Twelve vertical tricolours that differ by one colour or the order. The hardest pack.
A round shows ten of these 12, in a new order, each with four names from this pack.
Practise with descriptions shows a written description of each flag before you answer, for learning by ear or with a screen reader. Those rounds are counted separately.
The 12 flags
- FranceThree equal vertical bands: blue at the hoist, white, then red.
- ItalyThree equal vertical bands: green at the hoist, white, then red.
- IrelandThree equal vertical bands: green at the hoist, white, then orange.
- Côte d’IvoireThree equal vertical bands: orange at the hoist, white, then green.
- BelgiumThree vertical bands: black at the hoist, then yellow, then red. Officially almost square.
- RomaniaThree equal vertical bands: blue at the hoist, yellow, then red.
- ChadThree equal vertical bands: dark blue at the hoist, yellow, then red.
- MaliThree equal vertical bands: green at the hoist, yellow, then red.
- GuineaThree equal vertical bands: red at the hoist, yellow, then green.
- SenegalGreen, yellow and red vertical bands with a green star on the yellow.
- CameroonGreen, red and yellow vertical bands with a yellow star on the red.

Telling the look-alikes apart
- France and ItalyFrance: blue at the hoist. Italy: green at the hoist.
- France and BelgiumFrance: blue, white, red. Belgium: black, yellow, red, and no white at all.
- Italy and IrelandItaly ends in red. Ireland ends in orange.
- Italy and MexicoItaly: plain white middle. Mexico: an eagle on a cactus in the middle, and a darker green.
- Chad and RomaniaChad and Romania are practically the same picture: Chad’s blue is a shade darker (indigo). They are never asked together.
- Belgium and RomaniaBelgium: black at the hoist. Romania: blue at the hoist.
- Ireland and Côte d’IvoireIreland: green at the hoist. Côte d’Ivoire: orange at the hoist.
- Mali and GuineaMali: green at the hoist. Guinea: red at the hoist.
- Mali and SenegalMali: plain. Senegal: a green star on the yellow.
- Senegal and CameroonSenegal: yellow in the middle with a green star. Cameroon: red in the middle with a yellow star.
- Guinea and CameroonGuinea: red at the hoist, no star. Cameroon: green at the hoist, a yellow star on red.
- Belgium and ChadBelgium: black at the hoist and an almost square flag. Chad: dark blue (indigo) at the hoist.
