- SomaliaA light blue field with one large white star in the centre.
- ComorosYellow, white, red and blue horizontal stripes with a green triangle at the hoist holding a white crescent and four stars.
Telling the look-alikes apart
- Sudan and EgyptSudan: a green triangle at the hoist. Egypt: a gold eagle on the white.
- Algeria and MauritaniaAlgeria: green and white, a red crescent. Mauritania: green with red stripes, a gold crescent.
- Djibouti and ComorosDjibouti: a white triangle with a red star. Comoros: a green triangle with a crescent and four stars.
